Share the spirit of "We are all Africans" - Musical Video by Brother Victor Richards, a U.K based Artist, and is the Founder and Manager of V. Jay Theatre Productions based in Leicester - in Londong - U.K Mr. Victor Richards, is a Caribbean Descendant and British national, Actor, Playwright, Storyteller, and Poet Shines, who visited The Gambia from 14 November to 5 December 2019. During his visit Mr. Richards who was accompanied by Sister Angela Rose of Aga-UK Ambassadors, staged his popular "One Man Show", featuring Zenith School students' poetry performance. His Show depicts his One Man Show play - published in a book, and is on audio is on Audio CD that talks about the experiences of our Caribbean Ancestors, their hardship and lifestyle they went through after the Second World War in 1948. Nafa Quick Response to Covid 19 disbursement of $10,000 to 30 Districts starts today

To mark the launching of the Nafa Quick Response to Covid 19 Project - the National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) will today – 21 July 2020 start the disbursement of $10,000 Fund to 30 Districts, starting from the Foni Districts in the West Coast Region, to all Districts in Lower River Region (LRR), North Bank Region (NBR) Central River Region (CRR) and Upper River Region respectively. This news was disclosed to journalist during a press briefing held at the NaNA Conference on Monday – 20 July 2020. Chairing the press briefing, Dr Amat Bah Deputy Executive Director of NaNA said Nafa is a Government program providing cash transfer and behavioural change activities to poor households in 30 Districts in The Gambia in response to Covid-19 pandemic. Dr Bah among others said said the objectives of NaNA is to improve household’s health, nutritions, early childhood development, adolescence, parenting and family planning, and prevent gender-based violence. On 8 July 2020, The Gambia Covid 19 Frontline Health Workers, comprising Staff working under the Covid 19 Rapid Response Team, Contact Tracing, Laboratory Services and the Quarantine Centre convened a Press Briefing at the Central Medical Stores, calling on the Senior Management of the Gambia's Ministry of Health to consider their plights, without which they will convene a meeting on 9 July 2020, to decide strike action. The Health Staff are demanding for daily allowances, of D750 to be paid, dating back from January 2020 when the Covid 19 Campaign started. They also among others are asking for their Health Insurance, accommodation and allowances to be paid by their line Ministry. In his remarks - Seyfo Singhatey, Covid 19 Response Team Member said among others that Health Insurance, Feeding and Accommodation and allowances are major concerns to their teams.. The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO) on 28 April 2020 organised a one day media sensetisation training on the Covid 19 pandemic at the NaNA Conference Hall along Bertil Herdin Highway in Bakau. The event funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), meant to equip the media with relevant information about the pandemic and prevention measures, was held on 28 April 2020. Momodou Gassama – WHO Communication Officer in The Gambia in presenting a paper on various topics among others called on the media to keep public timely & accurately inform of the risks they are facing, such as potential transmission in communities and general public.
