VDF Extends Ramadan Sugar offers to security forces, communities

Friday 21 March 2025 Vision Development Foundation (VDF) extended their philanthropist gestures to members of the security forces and various Gambian communities, in maintaining the Islamic norms and virtues of Ramadan which allows us to feel the pain of brothers and sisters who live in poverty and cannot afford even the very basic human needs. Momnodou Turop Darboe- VDF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in his remarks unveiled that a total of 5496 bags of Sugar in 10 Kilos was to be distributed last Friday during the handing over ceremony at the VDF Office in Churchill's Town,Serekunda, as part of their annual Ramadan Sugar and other relief food items donations to communities from various parts of The Gambia. VDF gave additional 3,689 Bags of Sugar, others to orgs, institutions, political parties, Christian Council, others

Last Tuesday donation also included various political parties in The Gambia. Essa Darboe has called on wealthy individuals to emulate the philanthropic gestures of Momodou Turo Darboe, the CEO of the Vision Development Foundation (VDF). Momodou Turo Darboe is renowned for his annual Ramadan initiatives, which provide essential items to needy Muslims in The Gambia. These efforts have been a cornerstone of VDF's work, reflecting a tradition of supporting less privilege communities during Ramadan. Darboe's VDF distributes earmarked 4100 bags of sugar in 10 Kilos and other essentials to underprivileged households in the Greater Banjul Areas on Friday,7 March 2025 at the VDF Office in Churchill's Town, Serrekunda. VDF OFFERS RAMADAN SUGAR 2025: Vision Development Foundation (VDF) Distributes Ramadan Gifts to Needy Communities

In fulfillment of its religious obligation, the Vision Development Foundation (VDF) continued its annual Ramadan charity initiative by distributing 3,100 bags of sugar to poor and needy communities in The Gambia. The distribution took place on Wednesday 5 March, targeting areas such as the Kanifing Municipality, West Coast Region and Banjul, with community representatives from Latrikunda, Jeshwang, Bakau, Lamin, and other localities receiving the gifts. In previous comments responding to skeptics- VDF’s CEO, Momodou Turo Darboe did emphasised that this initiative was inspired by the teachings of his late father, who advised him to offer Ramadan gifts to the less fortunate. The gifts are being distributed to help support the poor during the Muslim Fasting month, a time when charity is especially encouraged in Islam.
