>29 March 2024 b>marks the 5th day of Vision Development Foundation (VDF) Ramadan Gifts for needy communities and institutions held every Wednesday and Friday, at the Foundation's Branch Office in Churchill's Town since the beginning of the Ramadan. Mr Saihou Fofana VDF PRO in his welcoming remarks on behalf of Momodou Turo Darboe- VDF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said as usual 4638 bags of sugar in 10 kilos will be given out to needy communities, institutions and individuals. He said this time about 20 National Assembly Members, 21 Communities, totalling to about 41 Receipients will be given Ramadan Sugar Gifts, ranging from 50, 100, 150 to 200 bags respectively.However 25 National Assembly Members turned up for the distribution according to admin sources. VDF donates 11,485 bags of Sugar to needy communities, institutions since the Ramadan began

Wednesday, 27 March 2024 , marked Vision Development Foundation (VDF) 4th edition of Ramadan Sugar Gifts to needy communities, making overal total of 11,485 bags of Sugar weighing 10 Kilos donated to needy communities, institutions and vulnerable groups from various parts of The Gambia. Distributions were held at VDF Office in Churchill’s Town in which a total of 4050 bags of Sugar were given to 46 communities and institutions from various parts of The Gambia. In this year's Ramadan VDF started their Annual Ramadan Sugar distributions on 15 March 2024 with 1500 bags weighing 10 Kilos; followed by 1700 bags weighing 10 kilos on 20 March; 2525 bags on 22 March; and the 4th day with 4050 bags weighing 10 Kilos, totalling to 11,485 bags of Sugar in 10 Kilos. On 22 March 2024 Vision Development Foundation (VDF) held it's 3rd day of Ramadan Sugar distribution to needy communities and institutiondsat a presentation held at the foundation's Churchill's Town branch office in Serekunda. VDF Distribute Another 1700 Bags of Sugar, Others as Ramadan Charity To Needy Communities, Institutions

On 20 March 2023: Vision Development Foundation (VDF) held it's second distribution of Charity, distributing 1700 bags of Sugar (10KG) to communities and institutions in West Coast Region and Greater Banjul Areas, as well giving out bread, dates, sugar and cash to needy women, men and children who were gathered at their branch office in Churchill's Town in Serrekunda, along the Brikama- West Feild Highway. The Annual Distribution exercise started last Friday with distribution of 1500 bags of Sugar (10kg per bag) to 19 communities and Institutions in the Greater Banjul and West Coast Region. The charity distrubution is coordinated by VDF Staff and Board Members, led by Momodou Turo Darboe- Chief Executive Officer, done through their principles of believe in caring and sharing. On Friday, 15 March 2024 as usual Vision Development Foundation (VDF) started their Annual Ramadan Gifts to needy communities and institutions by distributing 1500 bags of sugar (10KG per bag) to 19 communities and institutions at a ceremony held at it's office branch in Churchill's Town, Serrekunda. Mr. Momodou Turo Darboe- VDF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) said he is emulating his late father who advised him to be offering gifts during Holy Month of Ramadan. Tanji Drivers call for support to upgrade new car park before the raining season

Lamin Darboe, The President of the Tanji drivers association has said that they have finally been allocated garage at the former women garden, but added that the place need to be sand filled with gravel before the raining season, otherwise rain water will drive them out of the place if not sand filled. He said the place which was initially used as women garden is a water settlement area, and the flooding area of rain water from the village to the river, via the river bank. He however said that the Brikama Area Council (BAC) Chairman invited Carparks representatives in the West Coast Region to discuss their plights last Monday during which each representative raised their concerns. Mr Darboe said two community car parks - namely Tanji and Lamin villages are in need of Sandfilling in their car parks, but Lamin representative did not turn up for the meeting. GFD ending begging through skills adoptions for Self-reliant, self-employed, economically Independent

The Gambia Federation of the Disabled (GFD) is currently embarking on projects making Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) to become self-reliant, self-employed and economically independent through enterpreneurial training skills. On Saturday, 24 February 2024, 25 women with disabilities graduated from 9 months Tailoring Training, awarded certificates, and offered each Tailoring Machine by GFD on loan basis, to serve as revolving funds, to enable other members benefit. Muhammed Krubally- GFD Chairmanin in his remarks explained that the federation is the "umbrella body of PWDs in The Gambia; advocating for respect, promotion, protection and fulfilment of fundamental rights of PWDs. "GFD partners with Government, NGOs, civil society organisations, Parastatals, individuals and other authorities to fulfilling the inherent dignity and the rights of PWDs," he said.
